GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -
A 31-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly killing the mother of his children and shooting her mother.
Christopher Darrell Jefferson is accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Latoya McGowan Tuesday morning at her home in the 2000 block of Eva Street in Grand Prairie.
McGowan's mother suffered gunshot wounds. She was treated at a hospital and released.
The couple's children witnessed the shooting, but they were not hurt.
Jefferson was picked up by Dallas police officers Thursday afternoon.
He is facing murder charges.
