WISE COUNTY, Texas -
A Wise County Sheriff's Office employee was arrested Friday for eight felony sexual offenses.
Sheriff David Walker reportedly ordered an investigation after receiving complaints about Jeff Shurbet, an inmate work crew supervisor.
Although few details about his alleged crimes were released, the sheriff's office said he admitted his involvement.
He was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and seven counts of sexual assault of a child.
He was booked into the Wise County jail and his bond was set at $120,000 for the first charge and $75,000 for each of the others.
He has been suspended from the job without pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
