CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
We have to continue the conversation about Hadiya Pendleton. I was there at Comers Childrens Hospital last Tuesday when her mother and father found out their only daughter passed away.
You never get used to a mothers moans and cries when she learns that her child has been killed. Dozens were at Comers Children's Hospital lent their support to the family.
Hadiya, they say, was the best of the best. She always had a smile on her face, was always positive and willing to help others. She was an honor student at King College Prep. She'd spent nearly a week in Washington D.C. for the president's inauguration and was looking forward to spending part of the summer in Paris as part of an exchange program.
Instead of finalizing that trip, her parents were forced to make funeral arrangements.
I covered that story all week. I'm exhausted physically as well as mentally. I cried with that mother because I have two teenagers.
