A five year old girl was shot in the stomach at her Cleburne home in Johnson County.
The condition of the girl is critical. She was taken to Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Police say the shooting appears to be an accident.
Cleburne Police were called out to the 600 block of North Robinson at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.
The incident was originally called into police as a drive-by shooting. At first, police were told by witnesses they heard gunshots, then heard a car speed away.
Cleburne Police quickly determined the shooting appeared to be an accident.
Police say her father was the person who called 911.
"I don't know if she was the only child there. I do know she was the only child around where it happened," said Detective Kelly Summey of Cleburne Police Department.
Police do not suspect children were playing with the gun. They say there was more than one adult in the house at the time.
