Posted: Updated:

Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 30 Monday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m. police began receiving calls that a person in a black vehicle was driving east on the westbound side of the highway.

A short time later, that black vehicle crashed into another car near the Beach Street exit.

There was one person in each vehicle. They were both killed on impact.

Family members identified the victim as 30-year-old Billy Gonzalez. They said he was returning home from his job as a security officer, patrolling neighborhoods in Arlington and Fort Worth.

The name of the wrong-way driver has not yet been released.

The highway was closed for about four hours as investigators looked at the scene.
