Woman arrested for hit-and-run that injured firefighter - Dallas News | myFOXdfw.com

Images from red light cameras helped investigators track down a driver who hit a firefighter and kept going.

The accident happened several weeks ago as Balch Springs firefighter Frank Shafer was directing traffic around a bad accident involving an 18-wheeler, a motorcycle and another vehicle on Interstate 635.

Police said 69-year-old Linda Carter Stone drove into the scene. Shafer motioned for her to stop, but she instead accelerated and hit him.

They were able to track her down because a camera caught her running a red light on Lake June Road just before the incident.

Stone is now charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Shafer was not seriously injured.
