The woman accused of running down a Balch Springs firefighter and then leaving the scene spoke to FOX 4 from Lew Sterrett jail.
It was a bizarre interview. Linda Carter Stone never answered the question of if she committed the crime she's accused of.
Dash cam video from Jan. 23 shows Balch Springs Fire Marshal Frank Shafer working an accident. Police said Stone drove through the scene, pulling right up to Shafer and bumping him.
According to police, she looked right at him and then hit the gas. Shafer was thrown onto the hood of her car. He held on until he was able to throw himself off.
Stone was arrested on Monday. At the jail on Tuesday she seemed confused.
She refused to use the chair provided to her for the interview because of the color and preferred to talk about the FOX 4 personalities.
She deflected all questions about the hit-and-run accident and insisted she was never told about the firefighter when she was arrested.
"I'll just tell you what the police told me yesterday, that we talked about Yolanda and Timothy. That's it. So the fireman and all that bull**** you keep that out of the conversation," she said.
Police said Stone had been cooperative and even agreed to turn herself in earlier. But she never did so they went and got her at her Lancaster home.
Shafer was not seriously injured.
