FORT WORTH -
Police were led on a chase near a North Texas college campus early Thursday morning.
Officers spotted a dark blue Honda speeding near the campus of Texas Christian University at around 2 a.m. They tried stopping him but he sped off. Police let the driver keep going for a little while so they could get away from pedestrians.
The Honda driver then got on to Overton Park Drive. While going around a curve near Bellaire Drive he lost control and rammed into a tree. The young man was ejected from the car and was rushed to the hospital.
He is in critical condition. Police do not know why he did not stop for them.
