GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -
Three people, including a man in hospice care, escaped a house fire Thursday.
Flames broke out inside the home in the 800 block of Cielo Vista drive around 12:40 a.m. When firefighters got to the scene the house was fully engulfed and they had to call for back-up to put it out.
The elderly man in hospice care had just got home from the hospital hours before the fire. His adult sons was the first to notice smoke. He and the nurse helped the elderly man get outside.
A neighboring home was damaged in the fire by spreading flames. The cause is under investigation.
