This morning brings quite a bit of cloud cover for north Texas with temps starting the day in the 40s and warming up into the low 60s this afternoon.
We won't get rid of the clouds by the afternoon but we will see an increased chance for rain and even possibly strong thunderstorms as we get into the overnight hours.
The thunderstorms that form overnight will likely extend in a line from southwest to northeast and push east as the early-morning progresses. Areas west of the Metroplex will see their chance for rain around midnight and beyond while the Metroplex itself will see the storms rumbling through from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The entire area is under a slight risk for severe weather with the biggest threats being damaging winds and large hail.
