The Collin County Sheriff has announced one of his deputies died in a house fire.
Sheriff Terry Box posted the following on Facebook Sunday afternoon:
"It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the news that Collin County Deputy Sheriff Dickie (Richard) Fields and his wife were lost this morning in a fire at their residence in Fannin County. Our prayers go out to the family members at this sad time."
Sources tell Fox 4 that the Fannin County Fire Marshal believes lighting hit the propane tank, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
