ATLANTA -

A history lesson at a middle school in Rowlett, Texas allegedly ended up with a 7th grader having rope marks around his neck, according to a report on Khou.com.

Apparently, a history teacher asked for student volunteers to help demonstrate lasso techniques used during cattle drives. He had them run, and then tried roping them.

One student was lassoed, and ended up with bruises around his neck. School officials say they don't feel the act was intentional, but that the teacher used poor judgment.

Police in Rowlett say they are looking at possible charges of injury to a child.

The teacher in question has agreed not use the lasso in class again.
