North Texans react to fugitive's death

People who live in Grapevine are among many North Texans who are expressing relief now that fugitive Alberto Morales has been shot and killed.

It has been a stressful four days for people who live near the area where Morales escaped after stabbing an officer multiple times with a sharpened piece of his eyeglasses.

Schools were placed on soft lock downs. People were asked to be extra aware of their surroundings.

Morales was killed near Grapevine Lake. People out for their morning runs shared their thoughts.

"I thought he was long gone. I didn't think he's still be in the area. It was a little crazy to find out he was still out here, " said Tim St. Onge.

"I don't like to live in fear, but it just opens your eyes, he was right there where I run all the time, said Jenny St. Onge.

Reaction also came in swiftly on social media.
