Original:
A suspect wanted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend and the shooting of a man in a Rockwall parking lot Saturday night remains in Dallas hospital after being shot by police.
Rockwall police say 47-year-old Anthony Lewis opened fire on the couple in a parking lot next to a movie theater. After the shooting, police say Lewis drove to Garland. Garland police chased Lewis' vehicle at high speed east on I-30 back into Rockwall. The pursuit continued east and eventually ended in Greenville after the suspect's car was disabled by police spike strips and rammed the car of a DPS Trooper.
Rockwall police spokesman Lt. Edward Fowler says Lewis got out of his vehicle, pointed a handgun at the various law enforcement personnel who had surrounded the car and was shot.
The Dallas Medical Examiner's Office identifies the dead woman as Jessica Aguilar. The name of the other victim has not been released.
