A woman was arrested after calling 911 to fulfill her nicotine addiction.
According to the sheriff's office, 48-year-old Linda White from the Oak Trail Shores subdivision in Hood County called the dispatcher last Monday. She said that she was out of cigarettes and needed someone to deliver some to her home.
When deputies arrived, they said White told them she was joking about wanting them to bring her cigarettes, but no one was laughing.
Deputies arrested her and charged her with a Class B misdemeanor for 911 abuse. She was released from jail after posting a $1,000 bond.
The sheriff's office said White was "very intoxicated" when she made the call.
White could face a fine of up to $2,000 and or a 180 day jail sentence.
