A North Texas burglary victim was surprised to come home and find her home broken in to. But adding insult to injury, she thinks the criminal posted his picture on her Facebook page with the iPad he stole.
It all started Monday when Judy Burkhart's son saw a curious post on her Facebook account. There was a picture of a young man he didn't recognize so he sent her a text message.
Burkhart rushed home and discovered she'd been robbed.
"I couldn't sleep last night. Still today I'm rattled," she said.
The thief rummaged through her dresser, attacked her husband's closet and went through a desk in the den. He got away with $10,000 to $15,000 in electronics, cash and jewelry.
Burkhart believes he used her iPad to take a photo and post it on Facebook. Although she can't be certain it's a photo of him, she believes the person in the picture at least knows him.
"The fact that he'd take a picture and be so brazen or stupid to post a picture and put it on there like that... he's mocking me. That's how I felt. Like, 'Ha, ha, ha... look what I did,'" she said.
She has shared the evidence with police who are investigating the case.
