
A carjacking victim is in the hospital after a shooting at a Dallas apartment complex.
Police said the shooting happened around 4 a.m. in the 6300 block of Ridgecrest Road in Northeast Dallas.
Police say a man tried to rob and carjack 28-year-old John Webster.
The victim was shot in the neck and the jaw while he tried to get away.
Webster drove his black Escalade down the street, hit a car, and pushed it straight into an apartment.
He then continued down Ridgecrest and crashed into another apartment in the 600 block of the road.
No one in the apartment units were hurt.
A witness called 911 and the driver was rushed to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
Investigators believe there was another person in the SUV who may have fled after the second crash.
