Two Pennsylvania teens have taken their fight over a school ban on "I (heart) Boobies!" bracelets to a U.S. appeals court.
The Easton Area School District believes the bracelets have a sexual undertone that invites disruption in the classroom.
But 15-year-old Brianna Hawk and 14-year-old Kayla Martinez say they merely hoped to promote breast cancer awareness at their middle school.
The First Amendment case has been in court since 2010.
A federal judge had sided with the girls, but the school district appealed, leading to arguments Wednesday before the entire circuit court.
Judge Dolores Sloviter (SLOW'-vuh-ter) said she doesn't see the slogan as sexual.
She told the packed room that the Philadelphia-based Third Circuit had once lost a colleague to the disease.
