Free website helps cut down cell phone costs

Posted: Updated:

Some people need to either use their phone more, or get a new plan, because they're reportedly not using what they're paying for.

Unused data, minutes and tests are costing people a lot of money.

Validas, co-founded by a former Verizon employee, is a company that analyzes how much a person or corporation uses their cell phone and aims to get rid of "wireless waste" using its website, Vera.

The company's motto is share, love and give. Fittingly, their website,, analyzes your bill for free and helps cut down your cost.

Vera works like this:

Share: Input your phone number and the website monitors your monthly bill to report how much you're saving.

Love: To reduce wireless waste, reuse everyday minutes and recycle savings to a good cause.

Give: The website donates unused data to Seven Bar, a foundation that helps women in need.

FOX 10's Kristin Anderson reports on how to cut down on "wireless waste" and save some money.
