One of the 28 people hurt in the crash and pile up at the Daytona International Speedway over the weekend is from North Texas.
Eddie Huckaby from Krum was injured when driver Kyle Larson's car went airborne and crashed through the fence that separates the spectators from the action on the track. Larson's car then burst into flames.
When it was all over, Huckaby had a piece of metal lodged into his leg, described by his brother Terry as being approximately 3 feet long, 18 inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick.
Terry quickly reacted and used his belt as a tourniquet, wrapping it around his brother's leg.
Despite the crash, the Huckaby brothers say they're still race fans. Eddie Huckaby's biggest disappointment was that he would miss the Daytona 500 on Sunday.
