HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say the weekend death of a 37-year-old man wielding a hammer during a fight will be sent to a grand jury to determine if any charges should be filed.
Police say 37-year-old Hasani Jones was pronounced dead following an altercation at an apartment Sunday evening.
Investigators found Jones had been living at the apartment but had been kicked out a few days ago.
He showed up Sunday morning, got into an argument and exchanged punches with 1 of the people living there, then left. But police say he returned in the evening, armed with a hammer, and barged in.
Jones was choked in an ensuing brawl. Police and paramedics were called to respond to an assault and Jones was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
