Police: Man tried to rape a nurse at a Dallas hospital

Posted: Updated:

Dallas police say a man tried to rape a nurse who was treating him at a North Dallas Hospital.

It happened Monday at the Green Oaks Hospital on Forest Lane and Park Central Drive.

Police say Elathan Anthony was brought the hospital on Sunday for a mental evaluation.

On Monday, Anthony lured the victim into a unisex bathroom to look at something that was "medically wrong with him," according to police.

Once inside, Anthony allegedly locked the door, then pulled down his pants, police said.

The victim tried to get out, but Anthony threw her down and tried to assault her, records say.

The nurse screamed for help while Anthony continued to grab at her, according to police.

Another hospital employee managed to unlock the door, while workers took Anthony and locked him in a holding cell until police arrived.

Police say the 35-year-old Anthony has two prior convictions including assault family violence and injury to a child.

Anthony is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a charge of attempted sexual assault.

Bond is set at $25,000.
