Allen Americans host Texas Brahmas after weekend brawl

ALLEN, Texas -

The Allen Americans hosted the Texas Brahmas Tuesday night after a You-Tube video went viral over the weekend of the two teams involved in an all-out brawl on the ice.

Both rivals are top two in the Central Hockey League and it's evident they don't get along.

A fight Saturday night between the two teams led to the suspension of three Allen Americans players and one player could be suspended for the rest of the season.

"A lot of times that's what puts people in the seats and I'm not saying that's what the case was that night but it definitely got out of hand. As the guy was calling the game it was kind of scary because you saw four or five fights break out on the ice at once and then when the goalies got involved all bets were off," said Allen Americans Play-by-Play announcer Tommy Daniels.

"I've played eight years so I've seen a couple. It happens, it's hockey and it's tough. It's obviously not good when you're on the other side of it but it's hockey," said Americans Goalie Steve Silverthorn.

In Tuesday's match-up, the Americans won 3 to 1 over the Brahmas.
