A Newark Liberty International Airport worker was shot and killed during an apparent robbery in the city's downtown area, Essex County authorities said.
The body of Bruce Santos, 26, was found around 10 p.m. Tuesday by a passerby on Broad Street, which is about six blocks from the Prudential Center arena.
Santos died from a gunshot wound, but further details were not disclosed, authorities said.
It was not immediately clear what type of work Santos did at the airport. Authorities believe he was on his way home from work when he apparently was confronted by a robber.
