After a four hour search, a 6-year-old boy was found safe.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday evening after Dallas police said Marquis Drawhorn Sr. abducted his child. Drawhorn allegedly went to the mother's home in the 900 block of Emberwood Drive and threatened her with a knife.
Police said Drawhorn then grabbed the kid and took off in the mother's SUV.
He then left his son at an apartment in the 8000 block of Rothington Road. The little boy was found safe around 9:40 p.m. in the care of one of Drawhorn's friends.
Drawhorn had barricaded himself in another apartment in the same complex. A short time later he gave himself up to police.
He has a criminal history that includes drug possession and burglary.
