Flurries, light snow reported in parts of Georgia

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

The calendar says March, but it feels more like January.  Flurries fell in some spots around north Georgia on Saturday morning, and more could be on the way later today for the mountains.

A Winter Weather Advisory was issued in several north Georgia counties from Friday night until Saturday evening.  A Freeze Warning is also in effect for most of north and central Georgia through Saturday morning. (CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF CURRENT WATCHES/WARNINGS)

FOX 5 Storm Team meteorologist Steve Milone said flurries and light snow showers shouldn't last much beyond mid-afternoon, and accumulations should be confined to higher elevations.

Temperatures are expected to remain cold through the weekend.

No travel issues are expected.
