A stage curtain at Bass
Performance Hall caught fire Saturday evening forcing the cancellation of a
performance by the Texas Ballet Theater.
Fire crews arrived
around 6:00 p.m. Saturday and only stage hands and security personnel were
inside when the fire started.
Fire investigators are
looking into the cause.
No injuries have been
reported.
The main reason the
Saturday performances were called off is because smoke filled the building.
Shows are expected to
resume on Sunday.
The fire comes only two
days after the death of philanthropist, Nancy Bass.
The creation of the Bass Performance Hall
was one of her most celebrated accomplishments.
