Garland police officer fired

A Garland police officer has been fired after an investigation into a chase in which a fleeing, unarmed suspect died after being shot at 41 times.

Officer Patrick Tuter was fired Friday.

Authorities say Tuter shot and killed Michael Allen of Wylie after the high-speed chase in August 2012.

A call to Tuter's attorney was not immediately returned yesterday.
