Strong winds made it difficult for firefighters to put out an early morning house fire in Irving.
Crews were called out to the home in the 700 block of Oakwood Drive around 3:30 a.m. When they got to the scene heavy smoke and flames were coming from the roof.
Tuesday morning's heavy winds made the fight tough for firefighters. While trying to put out the flames inside the house they had to put in extra effort to make sure they did not spread to other nearby homes.
The fire was eventually put out, but the house was gutted. Nobody was home at the time. Neighbors say the people who live there work overnight.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
