FORT WORTH, Texas -
A Fort Worth police officer severely injured in a crash almost three years ago will be awarded lifetime income benefits.
Officer Richard Lambing was a police officer for 15 years. But he was injured in a crash during a chase in July of 2010 and is now unable to function as an officer.
He was told last month that he would not receive the benefits under the Worker's Compensation Law.
His family appealed the ruling. At the city's request, his case went through a peer review process and he was notified Tuesday that he will get those benefits.
