Duncanville grandmother shot through door

Posted: Updated:
DUNCANVILLE, Texas -

Police in Duncanville are trying to figure out who would want to shoot and kill a 74-year-old woman at her home.

The shooting happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Highland Drive.

Family members said there was a knock at the door. The victim didn't know the person at the door so she closed it, but was shot several times through it.

She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The victim's grandchildren were in the home at the time.

Police have not elaborated on the details of the case because they said they are still in the very early stages of their investigation.

However, family member said several weeks ago someone also threw a fire bomb at the door.

No one was arrested for that incident.
