Rising hip-hop artist Sean Forbes embraced music as a young child despite being deaf.

Two decades later, the Detroit native is a bona fide hip-hop artist.

"All the odds were against me," said Forbes.

Eight years ago he began writing music to the beat by feeling the vibrations of the bass.

By 2010, he had signed with rapper Eminem's label.

"We proved everyone wrong," said Forbes.

While he hasn't recorded a debut album, Forbes has been pushing his career forward with various gigs including a music video and opening for Stevie Wonder.
