A former Fort Worth ISD high school teacher is charged with a second case of fondling a 16-year-old student.
Chad Hawkins is facing a second Indecency with a Child charge. In each case the students were 16 years old.
Hawkins was a history teacher and assistant basketball and baseball coach at Arlington Heights High School before he resigned on Jan. 17.
He quit the day after a police officer saw him in a car with a 16-year-old student next to an LA Fitness gym in Westworth Village, which borders Fort Worth.
Police affidavits said the 34-year-old used a Facebook page with a fake name to create a relationship with the student.
Hawkins got out on bail in that case. But, police said he failed to show up for a court date last month and cut off an ankle monitor.
He was jailed without bail over that and was arrested this week for the second indecency - fondling charge.
The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office would not cannot comment on the case, but said it does involve a second victim.
At one time Hawkins was a pitching prospect for the Texas Rangers. When he did not make it he joined the military and later became a teacher.
