ARLINGTON -
An early morning fire forced the evacuation of an apartment building.
Firefighters rushed to the complex in the 2500 block of River Hills Court. When they got to the scene around 3:40 a.m. they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the top of the building. Resident were evacuated as crews worked to put out the flames.
Firefighters were able to knock out the fire quickly, but several units suffered smoke and water damage.
Nobody was injured. The Red Cross is helping residents who need to relocate.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
