Can you sell yourself in 140 seconds or less? If so, you could be Pizza Hut's new social media manager.
The Plano-based company came up with the idea two weeks ago. On March 10, applicants will get the chance to interview at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival in Austin.
The person to please is Pizza Hut's Director of Marketing, Caroline Masullo.
"We're looking for someone who's smart, who's quick on their feet, who understands the social landscape, who loves food, who loves pizza," Masullo said. "But somebody who can really be the face of our brand, understand our consumer and talk to them constantly, to make sure we're meeting their needs day in and day out."
The company also wants someone who can connect with its wide range of customers.
"You have kids that are going to baseball games, you have people who've been taking their families to Pizza Hut every Sunday for 30 years," Jim Durbin, social media headhunter, said. "Those are the types of stories that someone who's going to win this job will understand and be able to communicate and share and thank them."
Pizza Hut will narrow the candidates down to a few dozen. Those who can't make it to the interview at the Austin Hilton Sunday, will get another chance on March 14 - National Pie Day.
