The Arlington Police Department won approval from the
Federal Aviation Administration to fly remote controlled helicopters commonly
known as drones.
They were used during the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium two
years ago.
The aircraft are equipped with cameras and can fly up to 40
miles per hour.
The city says they will be used to take photos of accident
and crime scenes, and search for missing people.
Arlington is now the largest urban police department in the
nation to gain clearance to use drones.
