DALLAS -
A flight headed to DFW Airport took longer than expected after a bird strike forced the aircraft to land in Fort Lauderdale.
Spirit Airlines Flight 404 had just taken off from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport Friday morning when it hit the bird.
The strike forced the plane with 109 people on board to return to the airport.
It landed safely and workers were later seen cleaning it.
An inspection did not find any damage.
Passengers were put on another flight and arrived in Dallas in the afternoon.
