An Arlington woman is charged with shooting and killing her husband inside their home early Friday morning.
Arlington police said the crime happened in the 7200 block of Lake Whitney Drive at about 2 a.m.
The teenage stepdaughter was home at the time. She and the victim's wife called family members, who in turn called 911 to report what happened.
Police say they received a 911 call that someone was hurt and might be dead.
The paramedics who responded discovered only part of that was true.
Paramedics called police because one of the most important parts of the call was left out.
"Going into a situation where they were told there was someone who was injured and possibly deceased. We didn't understand the trauma to the victim until we actually arrived at the scene and then discovered the victim actually had multiple gunshot wounds," said Tiara Richard with the Arlington Police Department.
The 911 call was made hours after the shooting.
Police questioned everyone involved and then arrested 36-year-old Vnessa Burgos for murder.
She is being held in the Arlington jail. Her bail has not yet been set.
The victim's name has not yet been released because his next of kin haven't been notified.
