Fort Worth fire fighters spent Saturday evening fighting a 2-alarm house fire in the 8700 block of Deepwood Lane after a line of storms moved through.
Fire shot through the roof of the single family home.
Christian Politzi got a call from his wife while he was at the store that their neighbor's house was engulfed in flames.
"She was in our house and she heard a very loud boom. She didn't know what to make of it. We lost partial power at our home."
The call hardly prepared Politzi for what he saw when he got home. The fire appeared to rage uncontrollably.
"It was shock."
Politzi immediately called his neighbors, who were at church at the time, and broke the news to them about their house.
Firefighters continued to attack the flames at one home.
"At the same time they were also hosing down our house."
Firefighters did what they could to keep the fire from spreading and devouring another house, until it was no longer a threat.
No one was injured in the fire. And while it appears lightening was the cause, it remains under investigation.
