A man who was denied access to his incarcerated son will get to spend a lot more time with him now. He was arrested for ramming his truck into the jail wall.
According to the Denton County Sheriff's Office, Rolando Hernandez was drunk when he tried to visit his son at the Denton County Pre-Trial Facility on Saturday. Officers refused to let him see his son and told him he could not drive home.
He allegedly got into his truck anyway. He drove through a fence and then struck the jail wall next to the visitation door. Then he backed up and hit two vehicles in the parking lot before going through another fence and hitting the south side of the building, the sheriff's office said.
Two inmates were hurt in the crash and the jail had to be locked down and evacuated while maintenance crews patched the hole in the wall.
Hernandez was booked into the Denton County Jail for criminal mischief and aggravated assault.
