DALLAS -
A police officer fired his weapon at a man after he thought he was being threatened with a handgun.
Officers were patrolling an area in the 9100 block of Skillman Street around 2 a.m. when the saw what they believed was a drug deal. Police approached the two men and saw that a third man was hiding behind a dumpster.
According to police, the hiding man appeared to have a gun in his hand. They told him to drop it. Instead of putting it down the man pointed the gun at the officers. Fearing for his life, one of the officers fired his weapon at the man but he missed.
The suspect was taken into custody without injury and police discovered that what appeared to be a real gun was actually a BB gun.
