We all know that eating healthy can leave us feeling youthful, energized, leaner, and lighter, but did you know that various natural foods, when applied to our skin, can leave us looking younger and more attractive? Yara Shoemaker should know. The former model and certified aesthetician follows a natural skin-care regimen that leaves her feeling great and looking sexy. She shares numerous beauty secrets in her new book, Health on Your Plate. Below are six tips for applying low-cost, readily available, all-natural food items to your body.
1. Stronger Hair and a Lustrous Shine Mix equal parts of olive oil, castor oil, and coconut oil. Add one clove of crushed garlic and mix well. Massage oil into hair and leave it for three hours. Meanwhile, make a strong infusion of chamomile and fresh lemon juice. Wash your hair in the chamomile-lemon water to remove garlic scent. Wash again, normally, with your favorite shampoo.
2. Generate Spotless Skin Heat a large handful of dry, clean spinach leaves in a cup of milk over low heat until the leaves wilt. Place a layer of warm leaves over your face and lie down for a half-hour. Wash your face with warm water. Enjoy an even tone and glowing complexion. 3. Tighten Your Facial Skin Blend one soft-boiled potato with ½ cup of yogurt and the juice of half a lemon. Spread it on your face and leave it for a half-hour. Wash your face thoroughly with warm water. This also helps to lighten dark spots.
4. Rid Yourself of Puffy Eyes, Dark Circles or Blackheads Wash a bundle of parsley. Boil the bundle in two cups of water for five minutes. Drain the water into a bowl and set aside until just warm. Wash your face with the parsley water, rubbing well for 15 minutes.
5. Decrease Wrinkles for Those with Oily Skin Mix lemon juice and olive oil in equal amounts. Spread a thin layer on your face and leave for two hours. Wash your skin thoroughly with soap and warm water. Do this only before bed at nighttime; wash your face well before going in the sun.
6. Burn Fat and Even Alleviate Joint Pain Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a cup of water. Drink the mixture before breakfast every morning. Those with sensitive stomachs should eat before drinking the mixture.
