NYC weekend events

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

You know there are always a lot of things to do in the city, but this weekend a lot is on tap: Big East college basketball, the famed St. Patrick's Day Parade, and the New York City Half Marathon.

While the barricades are in place along Fifth Avenue, the St. Patrick's festivities were already underway Friday night with the 229th Friendly Sons of St. Patrick's dinner in Midtown.

As the parade and partying wind down Saturday, running enthusiasts will take over the streets Sunday morning for the NYC Half, the first major big race in the city since the full marathon was canceled last November because of Superstorm Sandy. The NYC Half Expo was already underway Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
