People in the 1600 block of East Illinois Ave. were awakened early Saturday by a car careening through their neighborhood.
Dallas police say a Mustang went out of control as it traveled along East Illinois Ave., plowed through three front yards, hit a parked car and then flipped over. Residents came out of their homes thinking something had exploded in their neighborhood.
Dallas Fire Rescue had to cut open the Mustang to remove a woman. A man who was also in the vehicle was able to crawl through a window and out of the wreckage. Both were taken to local hospitals. Police continue to investigate the circumstances that caused the Mustang to go out of control.
