NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Suffolk County cops arrested a woman who is suspected of stealing a puppy from a Dix Hills, N.Y., pet store in February, authorities said.

Back on February 17, a woman went into Yippity Yap on East Route 25, grabbed a pug puppy from the play area, hid the dog, and walked out of the store, police said.

The store said the puppy was worth $1,800.

The day after police released security camera images of the suspect, someone brought the puppy, unharmed, back to the store, authorities said.

The suspect, Krista Kazan, 43, of Hauppauge, was identified based on the security cameras photos.

Police said the person who brought back the dog is a family member of Kazan.

Detectives arrested Kazan at her home on March 16 and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

She was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 17, police said.
