CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A number of Chicago bookstores say they are selling out of a controversial novel banned by Chicago Public Schools.

The novel series "Persepolis" was banned by the school board because it decided that it was inappropriate for high school students.

The book contains graphic language and images about a woman who survived the Islamic revolution in Iran during the 1970's and 80's.
