National Action Network to tackle health disparities

A report released by the New York State Minority Health Surveillance showed major disparities among Blacks and Hispanics.

According to the report:

Hispanics in New York have the highest percentage of people with poor health.

African Americans have the highest rate of prostate and female breast cancer mortality.

Among the organizations trying to improve these statistics is the Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Action Network.

The NAN is holding its convention on April 3-6 at the Sheraton in Manhattan.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and leading ministers will join Rev. Sharpton in tackling the issues and reversing the trend.
