Authorities: Shell casings may tie Texas shootout to Colo death

Posted: Updated:

Authorities now say shell casings from a shootout with a white supremacist Colorado parolee in Texas are the same make and caliber as those found at the home of Colorado's prison chief after he was killed.

The findings came after investigators processed the vehicle of Evan Ebel.

Representatives from numerous agencies in Texas and Colorado updated the status of their investigation involving Evan Ebel this morning.

Wise County Sheriff's officials confirmed that Ebel has died after getting in a firefight with authorities that followed a chase through Wise County on Thursday morning.

Evidence continued to mount on Friday that the suspect, 28-year-old Ebel could also be linked to the recent murder of a pizza delivery driver.

Denver police said Friday morning that Ebel is a suspect in the death of pizza deliveryman.

A Domino's pizza bag and a jacket or shirt  was found in Ebel's car trunk, according to police.
