Dallas Police say they've made arrests for the murder of Avanell Cowgill, 78, in her East Dallas home earlier this month.
Cowgill was murdered during a burglary at her home in the 11300 block of Earlywood Drive.
Police said after committing the murder, 29-year-old David Herron and 28-year-old Daniel Brooks used her credit cards to buy an electronic device at Walmart. This purchase and their attempt to use an ATM to take money out of Cowgill's account was all captured on surveillance video.
Dallas Police were tipped off to the two men when they found out the men were trying to resale the electronics they bought with Cowgill's credit cards.
They were already in a Richardson jail after being arrested on March 20, 2013 for an unrelated Theft of Person charge.
Both suspects will be charged with Capital Murder. Bond is set a $1 million dollars each.
