PHOENIX -

Phoenix and Tempe firefighters were called to the Hole in the Rock mountain formation in Phoenix to rescue an 8-year-old boy who couldn't get down.

The call came in about 4 p.m. Saturday.

The boy was unhurt, but was stuck at the top and unable to get down, according to Phoenix Fire Capt. Larry Nunez.

Crews scaled the rock and one of them rappelled down with the boy attached to him in a harness.

Hole in the Rock is located near McDowell Road and Galvin Parkway.
